Rockstar Games will release their critically acclaimed handheld game Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on the iPhone and iPod Touch this fall, the studio has announced.

The game is also releasing this fall on the PlayStation Portable.

“Chinatown Wars is a perfect match for the iPhone and iPod touch,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We are very excited to bring this incredibly ambitious version of Liberty City, with this level of detail and immersive gameplay on Apple’s new gaming platforms.”

Chinatown Wars follows Huang Lee, the member of a gang who travels to Liberty City to investigate the death of his father. Unlike recent Grand Theft Auto games that use 3D visuals, Chinatown Wars is played from a top-down perspective.

Readers, do you think Chinatown Wars will work on the iPhone?

Here is a trailer from the DS Version
